Dr. Gary M. Kramer, M.D., FAAP
Gary M. Kramer, M.D. joined Coral Gables-based Pediatric Specialists in 2002 alongside Robert McKey Jr., M.D., it’s founding principal.
As a native bilingual Miamian with strong professional ties to the South Florida pediatric healthcare community, Dr. Kramer was honored by the opportunity to assume leadership of the practice in 2005.
Dr. Kramer, who earned his medical degree at the American Program of Sackler School of Medicine, previously completed joint majors in Biology and Psychology with a special emphasis on Child and Adolescent Development at Washington University in St. Louis. After serving his residency at Miami Children’s Hospital, he completed an additional year of post-graduate fellowship training in Adolescent Medicine at Schneider Children’s Hospital in Long Island.
Dr. Kramer is a regular speaker on the topic of childbirth education at both Mercy and Baptist Hospital. In addition, he serves as a preceptor to medical students and residents in training, as well as ARNP’s interested in the field of Pediatrics.
Dr. Kramer is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and resides in Coconut Grove with his wife Michelle and two daughters, Lily and Cece Rose.
Dr. Rebeca A. Kimsey Markovich, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Rebeca A. Kimsey is a board certified pediatrician who grew up in the local South Florida community. She attended the IB programs at Sunset Elementary, Carver Middle and Coral Reef Senior High Schools followed by undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Florida. She then returned home to complete internship and residency at Holtz Children’s Hospital within the JMH / UM system and was thereafter selected to remain for an additional year as Chief Resident. Dr. Kimsey continues to maintain an academic affiliation as Voluntary Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Miami.
Citing her love of children and the South Florida community, Dr. Kimsey embraced the opportunity to take care of growing families in the area. A Cuban American, native Spanish speaker, Dr. Kimsey is married with two young children a two and half year old daughter and a five month old son. In addition to early intervention and preventive medicine, she has a special interest in childhood development and supporting a mother’s choice to breastfeed. her goal is to provide parents with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions for their child’s health and wellbeing. She expects that the opportunity to work in the small practice environment that Pediatric Specialists has embodied since 1959 will afford her the ability to provide a personalized level of care that patients value and would otherwise find difficult to replicate in today’s healthcare environment.
Dr. Kimsey is passionate about patient education and looks forward to getting the opportunity to take care of newborns as they grow into healthy young adults.
